Based on their spelling errors in the first page....I would pass on this "doctor ". See your own real doctor and ask to be referred to a dietitian. My advice....find ways to cut out 200 empty calories per day (refined sugars, junk foods, white starches such as rice, etc.), choose lean proteins like chicken and fish, add grains like whole wheat and brown rice, reduce your portions of carbs and meats to the size of your palm (notice I said palm...not your whole hand), double your veggies and fruit (not fruit juices) and increase your activity to 30-45 minutes per day and you should lose the recommended 1-2 lbs per week safely and for free. Remember....a pound = 3500 calories. Eat three meals a day plus healthy small snacks and you'll do well. Follow the Canada Food Guide to find out what a portion of food really is....it's certainly not Keg size! Another rule of thumb that I follow is to not eat after 6 pm at night. Supper is my last meal....it's nothing but water until bed time and breakfast the next day. Allow yourself 1 "free " day a week to eat whatever you want (as long as you've done the above) and enjoy normal portions without guilt. It's not a day to pig out...but to enjoy a piece of cake, or an ice cream. Something simple so that you won't feel deprived and can enjoy it as a regular part of life. Good luck...I'm in the same boat with you! |
